10 minute musings

On January 1, I had the idea to write each day (or as often as possible) a blog post about something that sparked my interest that day.  As a full-time employee and a mother of five young children, my personal time is limited, but I hope to be able to write at least ten minutes each day and share what I’m thinking about a specific topic.

I wrote this in my journal, but never added it to my blog.  I just found this, and decided to include it here, at the beginning of the second half of the year.

So, it’s now 2016.  I’ve been thinking about endings, new beginnings.  I have typically made resolutions in the new year, and as like many others who have done so, I’ve not been able to keep those resolutions, but I keep making them, because I believe in self-improvement, and I keep striving to be better, to be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, employee, friend, coworker, neighbor, and any other relationship that applies.

This year I’m determined to lose the extra weight that I’ve been carrying in my mid-section since I had my youngest child nearly three years ago in March.  I want to be able to fit into the pants that I started to make yesterday, instead of trying to figure out how to adjust the waist so that the fabric that I’ve cut already will fit over my full derriere, or how to add fabric in the appropriate sections.  I want to be able to make a pair of pants to fit based on the pattern, without a lot of adjustment.  Today I found a few websites that explain exercises to do to firm that part of my body, and I intend to do those exercises each day.  I hope to see results at the end of the month, although I know that it may take months to achieve my desired result.  We’ll see!

Well, I had a bit of success with losing weight at the beginning of the year, but then I slacked off.  I need to refocus!
